<description>This is my pursuit of my dreams and aspirations in college to have a career in fiber. I have dabbled in many things of the fiber world, but knitting is my main obsession. Occasionally you will see the others pop up.</description>

<p>I finished the hem of Flair on Sunday evening, since then I have stalled on the sleeve.   Flair is coming out rather slim, its going to be more cardigan than jacket so I have decided to go with the blue buttons from the post last Wednesday. I am nervous but I seem to always be nervous before I block something. Since I&#8217;m trying to figure out cardigan/jacket, I will keep at this until I get it right.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a title="IMG_0260 by rchrispy, on Flickr" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pursuitoffiber/2985267211/"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3272/2985267211_9a60a65e0b.jpg" alt="IMG_0260" width="500" height="375" /></a></p>
<p>This sweater was finished and I have worn it at least twice in the last month, but I was just unhappy with it because of this:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a title="Lettuce button band of doom by rchrispy, on Flickr" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pursuitoffiber/2985320585/"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3214/2985320585_84d4d54949.jpg" alt="Lettuce button band of doom" width="375" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>The band was lettuce-ing and driving me nuts. So I tried to create a button band reinforcement with grosgrain ribbon. It failed miserably since the buttonholes done by the machine ripped out. So I grudgingly ripped out the buttonhole side and re-knit it with a smaller needle. I am so happy that I went and ripped out the button band too. So I need to re-knit the band. It should only take me a short while but I have yet to do it.</p>

<p>I have been on vacation as you know. I tried to improve my photography skills. With the black volcanic rock of The Big Island and the pale blue of the ocean it proved a challenge. The above photo is one of my best pictures.</p>
<p>I was only there for two weeks. It was fun but a bit too hot for me. I really love the Pacific NW and its moderate temperatures and the ability to wear wool most of the year. Since I got back a month ago, I have been working on designs and enjoying my time off.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a title="Churchable's mariners sock by rchrispy, on Flickr" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pursuitoffiber/2965661004/"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3138/2965661004_5e17135fb6.jpg" alt="Churchable's mariners sock" width="375" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>I have been feeling guilty that I have not knit Churchable a pair of socks since the 4th of July in 2007. He is over do for a pair of socks. I <a href="http://www.pursuitoffiber.com/blog/2007/08/02/wip-wednesday-5/">started the above socks quite a while ago</a> but I disliked them with a passion and refused to work on them. So I frogged them and started over 2 weeks ago. I really trucked through the foot.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a title="Flair in progress by rchrispy, on Flickr" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pursuitoffiber/2965659220/"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3212/2965659220_744621621c.jpg" alt="Flair in progress" width="500" height="375" /></a></p>
<p>Its the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/malabrigo-junkies/topics/319342#1">October Holiday Stockpile</a> on the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/groups/malabrigo-junkies">Malabrigo Junkie Ravelry Group</a>. I have done a few designs and knit a new cowl using a technique that I have never done before. I decided that I really needed winter coats so I started Flair last Monday and split off the arms this weekend. I have come to a decision point.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a title="Flair button choices by rchrispy, on Flickr" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pursuitoffiber/2964815359/"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3222/2964815359_1a93c04a5b.jpg" alt="Flair button choices" width="375" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>Which button looks better?</p>
