This is my pursuit of my dreams and aspirations in college to have a career in fiber. I have dabbled in many things of the fiber world, but knitting is my main obsession. Occasionally you will see the others pop up.

Hey everyone,

On the weeks that I miss posting WIP Wednesday and FO Friday, I will be posting Weekend Wrap-up. There will be weeks in the up coming months that I will be unable to be near a good internet connection. So if you don’t see the midweek updates, check back at the end of the weekend.

This week I was sick and in a lot of pain and completely unable to think straight enough to put together any updates.

Since I finished all my WIP and had no clue what I was going to work on that was fast, I doubted I would have a FO. Fear not because I finished Eiffel.

Pattern: Eiffel by Lana Hames of Lanaknits Designs from Knitty
Yarn: Scheepjes Linnen de Luxe color 306 – gold with pinks and purples
(50% flax, 50% acrylic) 50grams, 175 m, 2 strands held together.
Needles: Clover US 4 circular, Susan Bates US 6 circular, and Clover US6 dpn
Mods: Well lots. I knew from the begininning that I did not have enough yarn. As it turns out I might have had enough for longer sleeves then I made. I had 2 full hanks and a partial ball. My chest is rather large so I stopped the lace at 7 inches. Now that I have put it on, 9 inches would have been better but my constant measurements showed otherwise. Oh well, I still love it. I made the sleeves 6 inches to the armpit join. I actually can’t wait till the weather is warm enough for me to wear this outside for longer than a few pics. Also after putting it on I have determined not to put a ribbon anywhere on the sweater. I do like ribbons but I did not think this would look right. I also did one less decrease yoke repeat set and am very glad because this might have smaller than I would have liked with it. I am especially proud of my underarm grafting. It is the best I have ever done. This helps me towards my goal of learning better finishing techniques this year.

WIP: This is a sock for my husband to make up for the last pair which has a loose sock and a tight sock and they hurt his feet. Now I know better. Hopefully these look awesome on him. He loves orange and he picked out the yarn. I am not liking the pooling near the needles. I think it might be because i switched from Continental to English in the middle. I like to pick my ribbing and throw my stockinette stitches.

So I really really wanted to be done with Wicked, so I waited to post later on Wednesday. I just happened to forget that it was V-day and I would not have time after churchable came home from work.

Well needless to say, I completed my goal.

I have one project on the needles. It is Eiffel.

(picture lost in the move)

I finished or frogged the rest of my works in progress. The fingerless mitts that I was working on were just not right – I will have to think on them. Also the entralec socks were too big. I need to learn more about measurements in entralec to work out the right size. Thank goodness the newest Interweave Knits had an article by Eunny Jang. She started playing around with entralec in September saying she hated it. Spent most of October obsessing and finally gives us a lovely article and sock pattern in entralec.

Right now I am going to focus on Eiffel. I don’t think I will finish by the deadline since my yarn is in hanks and I don’t have a ball winder. I will be knitting off my swift so this will most likely be a at home project. (Churchable will be mesmerized by the spinning swift; hopefully I can get his attention occasionally.)

My coffee table is covered in several projects waiting to be swatched.

I have a ski hat for churchable in Paton Classic Wool color leaf green and a natural yarn with some oils still in it.

A cute hat for me that churchable is tired of me pointing out in the Summer 2006 issue of Interweave Knits. I am thinking of using the last of my Noro Transition to complete this project.

I also want to use my odd ball skein of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Dusty Sage to make a minisweater from Glampyre Knits in the style of Diana’s at streets and yos. She was following another bloggers variation of the sweater. Cosmicpluto has her sleeve variation written out for us.

And finally a staff project look a like from the Spring 2007 Interweave Knits. I am making the lace nightie in a wool and rayon blend. The yarn is a dusky blue which is a perfect match to the upcoming fall colorways. I don’t know where I got this yarn but it is very old because it cost 70 cents a ball brand new for a 1 oz ball.

If that is not enough I am thinking about picking back up a Rebecca project that I set aside to start my Sexy Knitter Club KAL and I ordered the new CotLin from Knit Picks to make the skirt in the Spring 07 IK.

Hey everyone,

I thought I would get you an update on what I am working on. On Friday I will show you what I have finished if anything at all.

(picture did not make the move)

This is my Wicked that I am KAL with the Sexy Knitters Club. I have one sleeve done. I have sort of stalled on this project because I dislike the way the sleeve finished when I BO on Saturday afternoon. So today I unknit it to an inch below BO edge and knit up a k2,p2 rib. I am much happier with the results. I modified the sleeve in that I added 12 sk2togpss every eight rounds at the underarm. I like closer fitting sweaters and with such a thin yarn, a tighter fit felt more appropriate. Maybe if I was doing the worsted weight I would keep the same dimensions.

(picture did not make the move)

This is an entralec sock that I am working on. I am so excited for the Spring IK to come out since it has a sock pattern of this variety by Eunny Jang. I have been totally excited to finish this but I realize I need to pay attention to it rather than just knit so it is more of a focus piece.

(picture did not make the move)

This is my own design for hand warmers using sock yarn and intricate cabling. I am really into cabling but I seem to have gotten my self saddled with mostly complicated patterns and so I am not giving this the attention it deserves.

(picture did not make the move)

And this is my Eiffel that I am KAL with the Sexy Knitters Club, which has not gotten much further than a say or so after I cast on. I thought my Wicked would be better travel knitting and the linen yarn is hurting my hands if I knit for too long so I have to take breaks.

This is my yarn for my Eiffel pattern from Knitty.com.
I have something less than 5 balls so I will be making a short sleeve Eiffel size Medium. The sleeves will start after two lace repeats.
I am knitting this pattern with the Sexy Knitters Club and also another pattern which I post about later.
