Bamboo on Ravelry
I got a bit smaller of a gauge when I knit with the US 6s. My gauge was 5.5 spi. Not sure how I feel about the variegated yarn on a garment, but I love the feel and look of the knitting and the swatch. The drape is beautiful. I can’t wait to see this yarn in action. I am interested in seeing how this compares to the original Bamboo that SWTC had on the market. I have a skein; I will need to pull it out and do a comparison. The stitch definition is amazing especially after wet blocking when the stitches plump up.

Brushed Suri by Blue Sky Alpacas
3.5 – 6 sts / inch on US 4 – 11s
67% Brushed Suri, 22% Merino, 11% Bamboo
142 yards. Color: 900
Brushed Suri on Ravelry
I have never wanted to make a swatch into a pet, but the Brushed Suri makes me want to hug it and pet it and call it George. This stuff is divine. A few of the comments on ravelry are that a skein is like petting a cat. This is an alpaca yarn that is spun similar to mohair laceweight yarn. I would never think twice about subbing this yarn for a mohair, because it is super soft next to the skin. Very very little itch factor on my neck. I could imagine this would make a very warm sweater so best to think about something with a large gauge or very lacy. This yarn seems to be a carry along yarn in many patterns.
